ArmInfo. Criminal case against former president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court, as stated by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
The investigation conducted in the criminal proceedings examined by the Anti-Corruption Committee revealed that Sargsyan, having held the positions of Minister of Defense, Prime Minister, President, and then again Prime Minister of Armenia from 2000 to 2018, used his official position to facilitate the involvement of M. B., who is in close relations with him, and the organizations belonging to him, in the establishment of a bitumen plant in Surenavan village of Ararat Province, to meet the needs of Armenia with foreign investments.
The third president of Armenia is charged with accepting a large bribe and illegally participating in entrepreneurial activities.
