ArmInfo. As part of the vote of no confidence in Nikol Pashinyan, the "I Have Honor" faction is ready to consider the possibility of the opposition proposing the candidacy of arrested Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan for Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia with the latter's consent. The head of the faction, Hayk Mamijanyan, told journalists about this on July 2.
According to him, if the archbishop refuses, the faction will insist on the candidacy it proposed. The MP noted that, according to his information, Mikael Ajapahyan himself declined this offer. Mamijanyan pointed to the possibility of consolidating society around the candidacy of David Hambartsumyan, proposed by the Republican Party. "If we were not confident in this, we would not have started this process. There is not a single significant political figure who would criticize our candidate. We, in turn, are ready to ensure unity, which we anticipate from our partners," said the oppositionist, expressing confidence that there are rationale individuals among the ruling faction who can be involved in this process to bring about government change. However, as Hayk Mamijanyan noted, there are currently no such meetings with deputies from the ruling faction. Nonetheless, the politician noted that efforts are being made in all directions.
