ArmInfo. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Armenia and Canada have been successfully building a strong and successful partnership based on mutual respect, democratic values and common aspirations. This was stated by Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan, speaking at a reception on the occasion of Canada Day.
According to him, warm and constructive relations have been established between the two countries, which continue to deepen in many areas. "High-level political dialogue between Armenia and Canada, including inter-parliamentary cooperation, is an important pillar of our bilateral ties. In this regard, I would like to highlight the important role of the Armenian Embassies in Canada and the Canadian Embassy in Yerevan in advancing our common agenda and facilitating institutional interaction. As a successful example of parliamentary cooperation, I would like to highlight the "Support to the Armenian Parliament" project, implemented by the Canadian Parliamentary Centre, which aims to improve inclusive and accountable internal governance in the National Assembly of Armenia. Given that we are so close to establishing a long-awaited and sustainable peace in the South Caucasus, we express our sincere gratitude for Canada's principled support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and democratic development of the Republic of Armenia. Such unwavering support is both encouraging and important in today's geopolitical situation," the NA Vice Speaker emphasized. He added that Armenia attaches great importance to expanding economic cooperation with Canada.
Yerevan is ready to make efforts to ensure further growth in such areas as trade, investment, high technology, innovation, environmental protection and other areas of mutual interest. "We are confident that expanding and enriching cooperation will best serve the well-being of our peoples. I would also like to highlight the significant contribution of the Armenian community of Canada. Its active role in cultural dialogue continues to strengthen our mutual understanding and friendship in promoting common values," the NA Vice Speaker noted.
