Within the framework of his official visit to, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev. The interlocutors discussed issues on cooperation between Armenia and the SCO, expressing mutual satisfaction with the active dialogue that has been established and the results already achieved in Armenia's capacity as a partner country.
Minister Mirzoyan underlined Armenia's position on expanding the engagement in the organization. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia's approaches to establishing peace in the South Caucasus are also based on the fundamental principles that underpin the SCO's founding documents, including respect for territorial integrity and the inviolability of borders. The importance of enhancing regional connectivity and strengthening economic ties under current conditions was mutually underscored. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan touched upon the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Government of Armenia, which has already received positive reactions from several SCO member states.
