ArmInfo.Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin is calling on citizens of the country to not succumb to provocations, to remain vigilant and to continue provide support through all legal means, as noted in the statement of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
It, particularly, mentions that on the morning of June 27, law enforcement forces, entered the territory of the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin, and attempted to detain the Primate of the Shirak Diocese, Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, who had arrived at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin as the coordinator of the Supreme Spiritual Council.
"Despite Archbishop Mikael expressing his readiness to go to the Investigative Committee and attempting to get into a car with law enforcement officials, the citizens and clergy present raised their voices in protest upon seeing a large flow of masked NSS and police officers. The behavior of law enforcement officers in the spiritual center of all Armenians, the use of force against citizens is reprehensible and unacceptable. Archbishop Mikael, despite not receiving properly notification, has made a decision to comply and will go to Yerevan to appear in the Investigative Committee. The Mother See of Echmiadzin urges the people not to succumb to provocations, to remain vigilant and to continue providing support through legal means," the statement reads.
