Recording attributed to premier fake - Investigative Committee

ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports that the recording on the Internet, attributed to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in which he gives orders to law enforcement officers "to put Archbishop Bagrat  Galstanyan behind bars at all costs within a week," is fake and was  created using artificial intelligence. It should be noted that the  associates of the arrested Archbishop Bagrat insist on verifying the  authenticity of the audio recordings published by the Investigative  Committee, which allegedly contain conversations about plans for  explosions, murders and other terrorist acts.

"The post published on the Internet on June 26, 2025, contains clear  factual data that a group of persons, acting by prior conspiracy,  with the aim of incurring legal consequences, posted on the Internet  a fake post created using artificial intelligence, entitled "Special  Instruction of Nikol Pashinyan to the Chiefs of the National Security  Service and Investigation", in which the Prime Minister of the  Republic of Armenia allegedly gives instructions to the heads of law  enforcement agencies of the Republic of Armenia on specific criminal  proceedings.

Based on the message received from the Prosecutor General's Office of  the Republic of Armenia, a criminal case was initiated in the Main  Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the  Republic of Armenia under Article 364, Part 2, Clause 2 of the  Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (computer forgery by a group  of persons by prior conspiracy).

A preliminary investigation is underway.

Necessary investigative and other procedural actions are being  carried out to identify the persons who committed computer fraud and  to give a criminal assessment of their actions," the statement said.

The Investigative Committee warns against the practice of spreading  computer fraud using modern technologies, misleading the public and  spreading disinformation.
