Chairman of the RA National Assembly Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan and members of the Armenia-US Friendship Group Arusyak Julhakyan, Maria Karapetyan and Gegham Nazaryan, who are in Washington on a working visit, held a number of meetings in the US House of Representatives.
As reported by the RA NA press service, the delegation met with congressmen Carol Miller, Kim Young, Robert Aderholt and Delia Ramirez.
During the meetings, the importance of the agreement on strategic partnership between Armenia and the US signed in January of this year, as well as the need for continuous development and deepening of active inter-parliamentary ties were emphasized.
The RA National Assembly deputies presented to the congressmen the details of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process and Armenia's readiness to sign a peace agreement as soon as possible, the possibilities for unblocking regional transport and economic communications, and the Armenian government's "Crossroads of Peace" project.
Both sides stressed the need to establish a stable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
