During a meeting with members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group of the French Parliament, Armenian Ambassador to France Arman Khachatryan expressed gratitude to the French National Assembly and deputies for consistently highlighting issues related to Armenia and the Armenian people and for showing solidarity and support to the Armenian people.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Embassy in France, Khachatryan highly appreciated the Group's chairman Laurent Wauquiez for his dedication to enhancing cooperation with Armenia and the addressing the issues faced by the Armenian people.
At the request of the MPs, the Armenian diplomat spoke about Armenia's approaches to establishing long- term peace and stability in the South Caucasus, signing a peace agreement aimed at normalizing relations with Azerbaijan, the process of demarcating the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and unblocking regional communications in the context of the government's Crossroads of Peace initiative.
The Ambassador also discussed the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen democratic institutions in Armenia, as well as enhancing cooperation with the EU. Regional issues were also addressed.
The members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group, led by the Chairman of the Group, Laurent Wauquiez, reaffirmed the commitment of the National Assembly and the Friendship Group to strengthening Armenian-French friendship, supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia, recognizing Yerevan's efforts to establish peace in the region, and promoting the development of the Armenia-France strategic partnership.
