The Deputy Prime Minister gave relevant instructions regarding the issues discussed.
Earlier, ArmInfo reported with reference to Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan that the project for the reconstruction of the capital's Kond district, which has great historical and cultural value, has entered the stage of practical implementation. According to Avinyan, today the task of the city authorities is to register the property rights of local residents in order to eliminate possible problems with developers during the implementation of the project. "167 applications for the legalization of real estate have already been submitted. We discussed issues related to the plan and concept of the reconstruction of the district with the residents of Kond. This long-awaited project is based on one goal: to combine the new with the traditional urban environment, while preserving the original flavor of the historical district," the capital's mayor noted.
The project was developed by the Yerevan Project Institute and the mayor's office of the French city of Lyon. Back in 2021, the RA Urban Development Committee announced an international open architectural and urban planning tender for the construction of the Kond district in Yerevan. This competition was the third attempt to attract investors to implement the program. Within the framework of the project, it was proposed to create a professional working group with the participation of architects, builders, economists, sociologists, lawyers, representatives of public organizations and the media, as well as artists, sculptors, ethnographers, and historians. It was planned to restore the surviving 2-3-storey old buildings along the perimeter of the rectangular garden, use Armenian cuisine for restaurants, cafes, tea houses, attractions, games, art clubs, etc. In the park, artists would be able to exhibit their paintings, which would correspond to the French Montmartre.
