ArmInfo. What have the current Armenian authorities managed to do? This is the question posed by the president of the Tashir Group of Companies, businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, who is under arrest.
According to him, the authorities have managed to turn the political field into a circus, and the National Assembly into a ring for hand-to-hand fighting. "Unable to withstand objective criticism, especially from such strong female politicians as Anna Grigoryan, Kristine Vardanyan, Agnessa Khamosyan, Anna Mkrtchyan, Taguhi Tovmasyan and others, a small group, without a single worthy response, from time to time breaks down and rushes into hand-to-hand combat with politicians who defend these women. I would like to clarify who or what this "small group" is. This is the part of the ruling Civil Contract party that does not know what education and respect are, and which, at the first hint, is ready to trample on all the values of the country and devalue our shrines. I am sure that in this group there are also decent people for whom everything that is happening, to put it mildly, is disgusting and unpleasant," the entrepreneur noted. He advised not to be afraid, not to forget about simple human values, not to become the curse of your nation. "This does not require much. You just need to gather courage and look your people in the eyes to openly say: "I am Armenian." Soon we will achieve public solidarity together. We will fight!", Samvel Karapetyan emphasized.
Tashir Group President Samvel Karapetyan was arrested for two months by a primary court ruling on June 18 on charges of publicly calling for the seizure of power. The criminal case against him was opened after he publicly spoke out in defense of the Armenian Apostolic Church the day before. Following the businessman's statement in support of the AAC, R Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan published harsh statements on social media, which many saw as a reference to the businessman. He threatened to "bring the dissolute clergy to heel" and their "dissolute benefactors."
