Oppositionist: The desires of Armenian authorities  are one thing,  while  the expectations of  Azerbaijani- Turkish tandem are quite  another

ArmInfo. There is a clear discrepancy between the desires of the Armenian authorities and the  expectations of countries that periodically make territorial claims to our country.

During a briefing on June 20, MP from the opposition faction "I Have  Honor" Tigran Abrahamyan commented on the shelling of Nerkin Handa in  Syunik by the enemy side. He recalled that both Turkey and Azerbaijan  have repeatedly stated that in the modern world, it is not  international norms that apply, but force.

The MP also pointed out that when speaking about Syunik, it should be  taken into account that escalation and military actions may affect  more than just that region. According to him, similar incidents may  occur along other sections of the border, but the goal will remain  unchanged - to obtain concessions from Armenia through pressure.  "That is why it is surprising to me when  Armenian authorities make  such statements. The country's residents are  more  with the    assessment of the military-political situation  and the forecasts   based on that assessment by a person at the head of the state, rather  than Armenia's stance on this matter. This is the aspect that the  Armenian authorities are consistently attempting to evade,"  Abrahamyan concluded.
