Zakharova: Approximately 550 Russians evacuated from Iran to Armenia  and Azerbaijan by land

ArmInfo.. Approximately  550 Russian citizens have been evacuated from Iran to Armenia and  Azerbaijan by land since June 14, as reported by Maria Zakharova, spokesperson of Russian Foreign Ministry, during a weekly briefing on June 19. 

According to her, these citizens were evacuated for further flights  from Yerevan and Baku to Russia.  "Among those evacuated are  Bondarchuk's film crew, Tchaikovsky's orchestra, employees of the  Gorchakov Fund, oil workers, tourist groups, etc.," she said.

She also mentioned that the currently accessible land border  crossings for evacuation from Iran are the Azerbaijani checkpoint  "Astra" and the Armenian "Agarak". When choosing a route, one must  take into account logistics, risks, and the time it will take to get  to the nearest international airport.  Zakharova also reported that  the Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed gratitude to the countries  that are assisting Russians in leaving Iran amid the escalation,  including Armenia.
