Russian Embassy in  Armenia provides guide for Russians on leaving  Iran via Armenia

ArmInfo.The Russian Embassy in the Republic of Armenia presented a guide for Russians on leaving  Iran through the territory of Armenia.

The embassy's statement noted that Russian citizens can leave Iran by  land through the border crossing on the Iranian-Armenian border  "Norduz" / "Agarak".

"The border between Iran and Armenia is open for Russian citizens,  free passage with valid foreign or "domestic" passports, no prior  notification is required. The exchange office is located directly in  the building of the customs terminal "Agarak" - the branch of "Ararat  Bank" (24 hours)," the diplomatic mission said. "The nearest large  settlement, Meghri, is 11 km from the border crossing. There is a  branch of VTB Armenia Bank open on weekdays until 17:00 (address:  Gortsaranain Street, Building 1), where MIR cards are accepted and  currency exchange is also possible.

There is no regular bus service between Meghri and Yerevan. Private  minibuses go to the capital of Armenia daily: departure at 07:30 from  the city square of Meghri (dispatcher +374-94-811-718, +374-94-  003-462, seats must be booked 1 day in advance), the cost of a seat  is 5 thousand drams (13 US dollars). 

From the checkpoint <Agarak> taxis go to Yerevan, travel time is 7.5  hours, distance - 328 km, cost about 50 thousand drams (130 US  dollars), or for a seat in the car 10 thousand drams (26 US dollars).  From Meghri you can also take a taxi to Kapan (1.5 hours on the way  to Yerevan, cost 12 thousand drams), from the airport of which from  Monday to Friday at 13:00 a scheduled flight to Yerevan flies  (turbo-engine, 17 seats, cost 20 thousand drams, to book tickets -  tel.: +374-77-121-272).

There are up to 20 direct flights per day from Yerevan to Russia
