Pan-Armenian Council of Diplomats in defense of businessman and  entrepreneur Samvel Karapetyan

ArmInfo. The Pan-Armenian Council of Diplomats has issued a statement in support of businessman and entrepreneur Samvel Karapetyan.  The organization notes that the council of diplomats strongly condemns  the lawlessness and arbitrary actions carried out by the authorities against the worthy son of the Armenian Apostolic Church and national benefactor Samvel Karapetyan and his family.

 "The Armenian society's attitude  towards the Karapetyan family and  personally towards Samvel Karapetyan was been shaped as a result of  their services to the Armenian people and the two Armenian republics  during the years of independence of the Republic of Armenia, as well  as the implementation of numerous nationally beneficial programs that  greatly contributed to the strengthening of the Republic of Armenia,  Artsakh and the well-being of the Armenian people. The actions taken  by the authorities against Samvel Karapetyan, who holds high  authority in the international arena and in the Diaspora, are another  devastating blow to our national identity, the Armenian Apostolic  Church. These steps are aimed at dismantling our national unity and  distancing Armenians around the world from their homeland. We urge  law enforcement officers and representatives of various branches of  government involved in such provocations to adhere to the  Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and the supremacy of  fundamental human rights, over succumbing to speculations undermine  Armenia's security and go against national interests," the statement  reads. 

It also emphasizes that the any government's attempt to suppress  individuals who hold greater authority and are beneficial to the  nation is a clear sign of growing panic, destined to be judged by  history.
