ArmInfo.  What happened to businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan is an unprecedented case. Former head of the National Security Service of the Republic of  Armenia Mikael Ambartsumyan shares this point of view.

According to him, the situation itself is unprecedented when law  enforcement officers begin to persecute a person hours later, simply  because he expressed his opinion.

"In reality, the issue is most likely not about the content of his  statements, but about some criminal offense that appeared at the same  time. Moreover, the political public post that appeared later  confirms the cause- and-effect relationship between the statement and  the possible detention. In any case, in my work practice I have not  encountered such an outrageous situation. Legal and forceful actions  were organized in such a way that they were, if possible, not  connected with political processes, and were not manipulated. There  is a deep crisis in our homeland, with characteristic consequences.  The real picture today is much clearer:  reasonable, experienced law  enforcement officers would not have gotten involved in this process,"  Ambartsumyan said.
