ArmInfo. The meeting between the two opposition factions of the National Assembly "Hayastan" and "I Have Honor" has concluded. In fact, after nearly an hour of discussion, the parties were unable to reach a consensus on the issue of expressing no confidence in the current Prime Minister.
Following the meeting, the head of the faction "I have the honor" Hayk Mamijanyan stated during a briefing with journalists that currently, 6 deputies of "I Have Honor" have signed the form to initiate the impeachment process against the Prime Minister. <In any case, we are clearly aware of our actions on all planes - including information, political and street pressure, and we will carry them out with the confidence that the process will be successful. The impeachment process has already been launched and it will ultimately end in victory>, he said. Mamijanyan emphasized that the path to victory lies through all available constitutional mechanisms, including through street struggle.
<28 signatures from the Hayastan faction are ready, they are in the faction office. Once the impeachment process begins, this form will be handed over>, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, faction deputy and representative of ARF Dashnaktsutyun Supreme Body, told journalists. He recalled that at least 36 signatures are needed to start the process. The "I Have Honor" faction has 6 signatures and the Hayastan faction has 28. Two more signatures are needed to start the process.
<We attempted to determine if the 2 signatures needed to start the process are currently available, but unfortunately, we do not have these 2 signatures yet. Even if they are available, and Mamijanyan stated this, at the moment we do not need to go to parliament, waiting for another 18 or some other number of votes to fully start the process. In this sense, our position is clear - we have 28 signatures. I will refrain from posting this on my page, as I believe that words hold significance. If the process begins, then 28 people will promptly sign>, Saghatelyan assured.
At the same time, Saghatelyan noted, in <Hayastan> they are convinced that the process will be successful only through street struggle and nationwide pressure, and they are ready to participate in this as well. However, he emphasized the need to understand the program, method, timeline and, most importantly, timing of these actions. The member of the <Hayastan> faction explained that they are ready to provide 28 signatures if, in addition to signing, they engage in a parallel street struggle. <So that we record the result, and not a document with 34 signatures, like we have had for the past 4 years. Therefore, we suggest to our colleagues (from <I Have Honor>) that they concentrate their efforts on collecting the required number of signatures>, the parliamentarian pointed out.
