


ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, who is in Armenia on an official visit. As reported by the PM's office, Pashinyan welcomed Alain Berset's visit and highly appreciated the cooperation with the Council of Europe, emphasizing its role in enhancing democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. The Prime Minister thanked the Council of Europe for its continued support to democratic reforms in Armenia.
In response, Secretary General Alain Berset reaffirmed the Council of Europe's readiness to continue closely cooperating with the government of Armenia and supporting initiatives aimed at the development of democratic institutions and human rights protection. He also congratulated Prime Minister Pashinyan on hosting the European Community Summit and COP-17 in Armenia in 2026, describing it as a testament to Armenia's growing international reputation.
The meeting also discussed the agenda of Armenia-Council of Europe cooperation, as well as the prospects of enhancing joint programs in the areas of democracy and the rule of law. They also exchanged views on regional developments and ensuring stability.
