ArmInfo. "We will not support David Hambardzumyan's candidacy for the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia," Hovik Aghazaryan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, told journalists on June 9, commenting on the candidate for the post of head of government proposed by the opposition faction With Honor of the National Assembly within the framework of the draft initiative to pass a vote of no confidence in the current Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
"We are pursuing two goals: one is to remove Nikol Pashinyan from power, and the other is to go to the 2026 elections with the confidence that we will form a government that will be the most legitimate in the modern history of Armenia," Aghazaryan said. He added that the candidate proposed by both parliamentarians, former Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan, is 10 times stronger than Nikol Pashinyan.
Earlier, disgraced NA deputies Aghazaryan and Aslanyan nominated former Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan as a candidate for Prime Minister of Armenia, but this initiative did not receive support from other opposition forces.
