
ArmInfo. Armenian-Russian relations have a rich history, built on mutual respect and centuries-old ties. Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan made this statement during the 10th Russian-Armenian Interregional Forum on June 6.
According to him, regional cooperation injects new breath, practical content and stability gives into these relations. They are directly related to a person's daily life - from the economy to education, from culture to tourism. Such platforms serve as the foundation for developing clear programs focused on advancing industry, energy, science and innovation. The speaker also underscored the importance of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. Simonyan emphasized that in the context of geopolitical processes and risks, the development of mutually beneficial and long-term cooperation is more than relevant. "We strive to enhance Armenian-Russian relations," said Alen Simonyan.
In turn, the Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko noted that the bilateral cooperation between Russia and Armenia is based on principles of respect and mutual benefit. According to her, Armenia and Russia are allies bound by a common history, cultural, and spiritual values, as well as the mutual desire for sustainable development and prosperity.
"Russia does not force anyone into decisions, unlike certain partners who put the question bluntly "either with us or with no one." We are not friends against anyone... Armenia is a sovereign, independent, respected state and has the right to make its own decisions. However, Russian-Armenian cooperation, interaction, and friendship are important value for our states and peoples," the Chairperson of the Federation Council said.
