Artsakh National Assembly deputies to elect new president soon

ArmInfo. Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan's term has expired in accordance with the Constitution. This was stated by his lawyer, Roman Yeritsyan, on June 4 during a conversation with journalists following Shahramanyan's interrogation at the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

He explained that the conclusion of  forrmer Artsakh President Arayik  Harutyunyan's term automatically means the termination of  Shahramanyan's powers. Arayik Harutyunyan had stepped down  as  President of Nagorno-Karabakh on September 1, 2023. Following his  resignation, the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh elected  a new president, taking into account recent Constitutional  amendments.
