ArmInfo. The activities of six ice cream producers in Armenia have been suspended due to violations. A deadline has been set for eliminating the identified problems.
As ArmInfo was informed by the press service of the RA Food Safety Inspectorate, the results of the study of samples taken from seven organizations were the result of supervision of ice cream production, initiated due to the seasonal increase in sales of this product.
"Orders will be issued for these types of products to destroy or recall them from the market with a ban on sale," the Inspectorate noted.
As explained by the department, according to the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union "On the Safety of Milk and Dairy Products", milk fat can only be replaced with a milk fat substitute, but only in an amount of no more than 50%.
"In food products produced by economic entities that have passed the examination, the proportion of milk fat is from 1 to 20%, therefore they are considered dangerous and counterfeit. Information about organizations that have registered non-compliance with the proportion of milk fat will be provided to the Commission for the Protection of Competition," the Inspectorate concluded.
