A Step into the Future of Prosthetics: Armenia  witnessed its  first-ever osseointegration surgery 

ArmInfo.Armenia has witnessed its first-ever osseointegration surgery-a groundbreaking advancement  in limb prosthetics, as reported to ArmInfo by the press service of the Eternal Nation Foundation.

It is worth noting that osseointegration is a revolutionary surgical  technique that allows a prosthetic limb to be directly anchored to  the bone, offering unmatched stability and mobility compared to  traditional socket prostheses.  Such surgical intervention improves  the quality of life of patients, in particular, improves mobility,  reduces pain, etc.

The operation that took place marked a new stage in the development  of prosthetics and patient rehabilitation in Armenia. It is  noteworthy that it was performed for the first time not only in   Armenia, but also in the entire region. Generally, this technique is  only used in a few countries in the world - in Australia, the USA,  Germany and Poland.

This transformative  procedure was performed by none other than Dr.  Per Rickard Branemark, a world- renowned expert in osseointegration,  who was specially invited to Armenia by Dr. Khachatrian.  Khachatryan  said that the Foundation intends to create a professional foundation  for providing high-quality osseointegration assistance to individuals  in need across the Caucasus region. "In accordance with the  Foundation's mission, this initiative also serves an educational  purpose. Armenian medical specialists were given the opportunity to  observe the procedure and enhance their skills, ensuring that their  expertise in osseointegration will benefit future patients in Armenia  and beyond," the Foundation's co-founder stated.
