ArmInfo. On June 2, on the margins of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Anaclaudia Rossbach, the Executive Director of UN-Habitat.
During the meeting, prospects for expanding the engagement of Armenia within the framework of UN- Habitat were touched upon. The Deputy Minister of Armenia emphasized the importance Armenia attaches to sustainable and green urban and rural development. In this context, the parties highlighted the importance of experience-sharing and joint initiatives with UN-Habitat in the fields of transportation infrastructure, engineering systems, and energy-efficient housing.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on prospective cooperation in the context of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be hosted by Armenia in 2026.
The Deputy Minister of Armenia briefed his counterpart on the ongoing efforts of Armenia to address the short- and mid-term needs of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh, emphasizing the importance of international support.
