ArmInfo. A 13th-century bridge in the village of Yaghdan in Armenia, is set to undergo restoration due to its current state of disrepair. The restoration project will involve landscaping and the installation of a lighting system. In the near future, the relevant scientific and design documentation will be developed by order of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MESCS).
As reported by the press service of MESCS, this decision follows a monitoring initiative conducted by specialists of the department in the Lori region. The monitoring team also assessed the repair and restoration work being done on the walls, church, and baths of the Lori Fortress. Discussions were held with the organizations carrying out technical and author supervision, as well as with builders and restorers.
The last stop of the Ministry representatives was Kobayravank, where archaeological excavations by the Scientific Research Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage are ongoing. According to the source, during the monitoring visit, officials from the Department for Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments, the Scientific Research Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage, and the Security Service were present.
