Welcoming those present, Zhanna Andreasyan congratulated everyone on the launch of an important program, which, according to the Minister, can become a system-forming structure on the path of reforms implemented by the RA government in the field of sports. The Minister emphasized that the development of football is one of the separate directions of the Physical Culture and Sports Strategy of the Republic of Armenia for 2024-2030. "Currently, more than 100 sports facilities are being built in different settlements of the country. Opportunities are being created in new schools for thousands of children to engage in sports. The presence of football fields is a must in these educational complexes. The created opportunities will allow children to engage in sports more actively, revealing their talent," Zhanna Andreasyan said.
In the context of sports development, the Minister also stressed the importance of establishing new standards of content. "I am confident that the Juventus Academy will set a new standard for football education in Armenia. This will not only be the work of the Club's Academy, but also a benchmark that will guide us and help Armenia have internationally comparable football and sports education," Zhanna Andreasyan noted.
The Minister also pointed out the components of the Academy's activities that will contribute to the improvement of sports medicine, refereeing, coach training and other areas. Zhanna Andreasyan confirmed the readiness of the RA government to continuously support the program.
The Juventus Football Club Academy in Armenia will consist of 3 sports bases for 2,000 athletes, two of which will be located in the Avan administrative district of Yerevan and in the area adjacent to the Hrazdan stadium, and the third in the Nor Hachn community of Kotayk region. The academies will have infrastructure that meets high international standards, including open and closed, natural and artificial pitches of different sizes with night lighting. The Academy will operate on both a paid and free basis, depending on the children's academic performance and results. Every year, the best students of the Academy will be sent to Turin, to the main Juventus Academy, where they will participate in training and friendly matches. It is planned that the construction of sports facilities, as well as a stadium of the second category of UEFA, will be completed next year.
