Suren Papikyan, deputies of ruling Civil Contract faction held closed  discussion on draft law on "buy-out" of military service 

ArmInfo.  Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and the deputies of the ruling Civil Contract faction held a closed discussion in parliament on a draft law authored by MP Hayk Sargsyan on the "buy-out" of the army.

Today, after a discussion,  Deputy Chairman of the NA Defense and  Security Committee Armen Khachatryan said: "The project is currently  under full discussion. The main disagreements revolve around the   provision regarding the reduction of military service duration on a  paid basis." 

According to him, the discussions will continue until all concerns  related to the project are addressed, with consideration for public  opinion. "This project needs to be improved as much as possible. And  if we see that the issues at hand are being resolved, and there is a  public consensus,  the project will move towards adoption,"  Khachatryan said. When asked whether the withdrawal of the project  from circulation was discussed taking into account public  of  criticizm, Khachatryan answered positively.
