ArmInfo. The topic of opening a Russian Consulate General in Syunik was discussed in detail during the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Yerevan, as stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a weekly briefing on May 27.
"We do not need to be convinced that it is necessary to quickly start the work of this Russian foreign structure. So far, there is no Russian Consulate General in the city of Kapan,. So, in order to get an official stance on why, this matter should be clarified with the Armenian side," the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
