Armenian NA speaker to meet RF Federation Council chairperson at  airport 

ArmInfo. Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan plans to personally meet the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko at the airport.

<Valentina Matviyenko asked me when I met Nancy Pellosi at the  airport. And I promised her that I would meet her too. And I will do  it, as in the case of my Cypriot colleague Annita Demetriou>, -  Simonyan said on May 27 in a conversation with journalists in the  parliament.

The Speaker of the RA National Assembly did not agree with the talk  that the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was  not met at the proper level in Armenia. According to him, guests,  <with the exception of a number of exceptional cases>, are met  according to protocol.

<The protocol is such that, for example, the speaker of the National  Assembly is met by one of the vice- speakers, maybe even the head of  the friendship group>, - he said.

Simonyan found it difficult to answer whether Matviyenko would visit  Syunik as part of her visit to Armenia.

Earlier it was reported that the visit of the Chairman of the  Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko to Yerevan is expected on  June 5-6.
