ArmInfo. Liparit Drmeyan, the Head of the Office of the Representative on International Legal Matters of Armenia, held a meeting with Osvaldo Zavalo Giler, Registrar of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
As reported by the office of the Armenian representative, during the meeting the steps to implement the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court following its ratification were discusses. In this regard, the importance of providing the ICC providing an expert opinion on necessary legislative amendments was emphasized. They also highlighted the need for active collaboration with the ICC to enhance the capacities of domestic law enforcement agencies, particularly in handling the investigating of specific crimes. The two sides also addressed the need to expand the ICC's jurisdiction to include the crime of aggression. Additionally, they reviewed several recent developments surrounding the ICC. Both parties expressed their commitment to continuing cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
