ArmInfo. Relations between Armenia and France are, for the most part, of a strategic nature. This was stated by French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot during a joint press conference in Yerevan with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, in response to a question about the possibility of elevating the relations between Paris and Yerevan to the level of a strategic partnership.
According to him, considering the broad scope of cooperation, there are plans to prepare a document outlining future cooperation, including in the military sphere. "My colleague Ararat and I intend to document our cooperation, which will have strategic content and formalize the existing relations, and outline the direction of our collaboration, including in the defense sphere," Barrot said.
Mirzoyan, in turn, noted that he shares what Barro said regarding Armenian-French strategic cooperation. According to him, there are many instruments and areas of cooperation between the two countries, that even some countries with a strategic cooperation document on do not have. The Minister also assured that the parties will work on creating such a document, taking into account, among other things, the wishes of representatives from the media sphere.
