Serzh Sargsyan: Charges brought against me are legal acrobatics

ArmInfo.The new charges brought against the third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan  for embezzlement and misappropriation of state funds are legal acrobatics by the Armenian authorities, as stated by the Sargsyan himself  to journalists  on May 21.

According to him, it is not his prerogative to predict outcomes of  this trial. "But in any case, I believe and hope that the court will  thoroughly study this case and confirm the absurdity of the charges  brought against me," the third President of the Republic of Armenia  said. He was responding to a question about his expectations from the  trial that began today, against the background of the decision of the  previous judge Vahe Misakyan, who acquitted him. That decision  ultimately led to the judge's resignation.

Recall that today a new trial began in the Anti-Corruption Court of  Armenia against the third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh  Sargsyan. This time he is accused of committing embezzlement and  theft on an especially large scale during his tenure as Minister of  Defense.
