Data Collection and Processing Center to open in Gyumri

ArmInfo. A Center for Data Collection and Processing and a Seismic Geodynamic Network will open  at the A. Nazarov Institute of Geophysics and Engineering Seismology (Gyumri) as part of the Armenian-Chinese cooperation. This information was reported to ArmInfo by the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA).

The grand opening ceremony  will take place on May 22,  during which  the capabilities of the seismic geodynamic network and the Center for  Data Collection and Processing will be presented. Following this, the  Institute of Geophysics of the China Earthquake Administration will  sign a memorandum of cooperation with the A. Nazarov Institute of  Geophysics and Engineering Seismology in the field of seismology,  earthquake monitoring, seismic hazard and risk assessment. 

According to the source, on May 23, the China Earthquake  Administration will sign a memorandum of scientific and technical  cooperation with the NAS RA.  This collaboration aims to implement  joint projects focused on assessing seismic hazard and reducing  risks.
