ArmInfo. Thirteen suspects in an Armenian organized crime ring have been arrested in the US, as reported by ABC News.
According to the source, their hefty charges include attempted murder, kidnapping, illegal firearm possession, bank and wire fraud, and more than $80 million in online cargo theft. The operation was carried out by the investigators of the Department of Homeland Security with the help of local police departments. The acting deputy director of Homeland Security Investigations in Los Angeles said that " This transnational criminal organization operated with the structure and brutality of an international cartel, inflicting significant harm on public safety and causing substantial damage to legitimate trade and supply chains". During the operation, law enforcement reportedly seized approximately $100,000 in cash, three armored vehicles and 14 firearms.
