On May 12-14, 2025, the Armenian delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Head of the Main Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases Vazgen Avetisyan took part in a three-day international training course organized in Doha by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Regional Centre for Combating Cybercrime (UNRCCC).
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee, the delegation also included the heads of the Department for Investigation of Crimes Committed in the Sphere of Cybercrime and High Technologies, the Department for Investigation of General Criminal and Electoral Crimes of the Investigative Committee, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor's Office, the National Security Service, the Ministry of Defense, and the judiciary.
The purpose of the course is to deepen professional skills in the field of cybercrime prevention, investigation and international cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee Vazgen Avetisyan expressed gratitude and emphasized that the Armenian delegation attaches importance to such cooperation, since the fight against crime is also of particular importance for the Republic of Armenia.
Vazgen Avetisyan, emphasizing the importance of further cooperation with the UNRCCC, expressed readiness to facilitate the implementation of bilateral and multilateral initiatives in the context of the fight against cybercrime.
As a result of the training, practical skills were acquired in the areas of research of electronic evidence, search and recording of data from open sources on the Internet, their research and analysis, neutralization of cyber threats and effective investigations, as well as protection of human rights, children and vulnerable groups in cyberspace.
