ArmInfo. Azerbaijan and Iran are conducting joint military exercises in the territory of occupied Artsakh. As IRNA reports, on the second day of the joint exercises "Aras-2025", special forces of the Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Azerbaijani army held a formal welcoming ceremony, followed by parade of participants.
The commander of the joint exercises and Deputy Commander of the IRGC Ground Forces for Operations, General Vali Madani, said that the special forces have a high degree of technical equipment and professional training, and some of these capabilities were transferred to the area where the maneuvers were being held.
General Madani stressed that the exercises are aimed to enhance the strategic, operational and military goals of the two countries and are being carried out in accordance with agreements between the presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan. He also recalled that the initial stage of these exercises took place last year in Iran, and "the current phase is now being implemented in Azerbaijan as part of the ongoing joint plan."
