ArmInfo. Employees of the Municipal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia have uncovered a case of illegal mining.
As noted in the press release of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, a signal about illegal activity was received by law enforcement officers on May 14. On the same day, as a result of the steps taken, it was revealed that a limited liability company, in violation of the rules for the use of subsoil, was mining sand and gravel outside the permitted area in the village of Darbnik.
The authorized representative of the company's director, the manager, his assistant and four drivers were detained, and the trucks they were driving were taken to a special territory guarded by the department.
A criminal case has been opened in the Masis Investigation Department on the fact of violation of the requirements for the protection and use of subsoil. It was revealed that as a result of illegal mining, the state suffered damages in the amount of about 12 million drams. In addition, the company's management concealed the turnover in order to evade paying taxes. The circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation.
