ArmInfo. The Geghard Scientific and Analytical Foundation issued a statement in which it strongly condemned the anti-Armenian event held in Jordan.
The statement of the foundation received by ArmInfo notes that on May 15, 2025, a conference entitled "Traces of the Cultural Heritage of Western Azerbaijan" was organized in the capital of Jordan, Amman, at the initiative of the Azerbaijani Embassy and the so-called "West Azerbaijani Community".
It is noted that after the conference, an exhibition entitled "Culture of Western Azerbaijan" was opened, which presented carpets, clothing, weapons and armor, as well as coins from the Safavid period, allegedly found in Yerevan.
"In his opening speech, Azerbaijani Ambassador Eldar Salimov presented the event as an initiative to restore the cultural and spiritual heritage of "Western Azerbaijanis," the foundation continues.
In this regard, the Geghard Scientific and Analytical Foundation emphasizes that it strongly condemns these measures aimed at the international legitimization of the fabricated concept of "Western Azerbaijan" and the appropriation of the historical and cultural heritage of Armenia.
In the statement, the foundation calls on the international community and interested organizations to clearly respond to such attempts, which threaten the prospects for regional peace.
We recall that after the forcible seizure of Artsakh, amid the silence of the international community, Azerbaijan began to promote the narrative of annexing the entire territory of Armenia. The Azerbaijani authorities are promoting the myth that allegedly the entire territory of Armenia is the historical lands of Azerbaijan. This sounds very comical, given that Azerbaijan is an artificial entity formed in 1918, and even its name was stolen from the Persians.
