ArmInfo. On May 15, a procession of the Ukrainian community in Armenia in national dress - embroidered shirts - took place from Yerevan's Freedom Square to the monument to the great Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Shevchenko in Yerevan.

Representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in Armenia, as well as employees of the Embassy of Ukraine in Armenia, students of the Yerevan Educational and Scientific Institute of the West Ukrainian National University, heads of Ukrainian public organizations - <Ukrainians in Armenia>, <Ukrainian House in Armenia>, <Federation of Ukrainians in Armenia> (Yerevan and Vanadzor) took part in the procession. In addition, the vocal ensemble "Dnipro", already known in Armenia, which has been operating in our country for more than 20 years, performed before the audience.
Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Armenia Valeriy Lobach noted that this holiday symbolizes unity, dignity and endless love for Ukraine. <For Ukrainians, vyshyvanka is not just clothing, but the legacy of ancestors, which is embroidered with threads of history, traditions and the unbroken spirit of Ukrainians. Today we came here in beautiful national attire from the symbolic Freedom Square to an equally symbolic place for Ukrainians - the monument to Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko. Every step you take, every vyshyvanka on the streets of Yerevan is the voice of Ukraine, which sounds beyond its borders. This is a reminder to the whole world that we are strong, united, we cherish our identity, being thousands of kilometers away from our native land. Today's holiday is not only about traditions, but also about our unity and resilience. Each pattern of the vyshyvanka is a symbol of hope, a symbol of faith in the victory of goodness and light>, - the diplomat noted.
He also stressed that the Ukrainian people remain strong because they have support from all over the world, including Armenia. Wishing everyone peace, harmony and good health, he expressed hope that the friendship between Armenia and Ukraine will only grow stronger every day.
