ArmInfo. On May 15, tensions rose once again in the National Assembly of Armenia, as amendments to the law "On the military-industrial complex" were being discussed.
This time, the tension rose due to a speech by NA deputy Anna Mkrtchyan from the opposition faction "I Have Honor".The deputy noted that amidst discussions about measures to develop the country's military- industrial complex, "the person who seized power in Armenia in 2018 transferred weapons totaling $6 billion to Azerbaijan." "We have to state that this same person is incapable of demanding that Azerbaijan return the occupied territories of Armenia. In the end, neither the current bill nor any other project will change the fact that Nikol (RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan - ed.) gave orders to Armenian soldiers not to open fire, so as not to protect and not to defend themselves," Mkrtchyan said.
In response, RA Vice Speaker Ruben Rubinyan urged Anna Mkrtchyan to follow the example of the opposition faction "Armenia" and leave the meeting room. "You are of no use anyway. As for the expression "the person who seized power", that is your political and biological father. Goodbye," Rubinyan said. Following this, the NA session was declared concluded.
