ArmInfo. On May 15, a parliamentary delegation of Armenia, led by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan, being in Kazakhstan on an official visit, met with the Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev.
As reported by the press service of the RA National Assembly, during the meeting, the Speaker of the National Assembly praised the interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries. The interlocutors focused on issues related to regional developments and the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The NA Speaker presented the Armenian government's Crossroads of Peace project and stressed the importance of unblocking regional infrastructures.
The importance of establishing direct regular air communication between the two countries was highlighted at the meeting. The attitude of the authorities and people of Kazakhstan towards the Armenian community was particularly emphasized.The parties also discussed the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in digitalization and information technology.
Maulen Ashimbayev welcomed the holding of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP-17) in Armenia in 2026 and noted that Kazakhstan will participate in this important event.
