ArmInfo. The current opposition in the National Assembly of Armenia is afraid to invite its leaders to the rostrum of the National Assembly. This was stated to journalists on May 15 by Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the National Assembly from the ruling Civil Contract faction.
According to him, the opposition understands perfectly well that their leaders - the second and third presidents of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan - are unable to answer the questions that interest Armenian society. "Both Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan are scared by the opportunity to stand before the rostrum of parliament. If they consider themselves absolutely innocent for the situation in the country, let them come and answer all our questions," the government representative said, adding that both have never served the interests of parliamentarism.
Aleksanyan added that Robert Kocharyan is one concept, and the "Armenia" bloc he leads is a completely different concept. The second president of the Republic of Armenia robbed the country, and the statement of his son, NA deputy Levon Kocharyan, that the amount of the loot allegedly amounts to $4 billion, and $200 million is demanded from the family, looks ridiculous. "They stole $200 billion from the people, do you understand what amount we are talking about? Where did they get such money from? There is no point in talking about the diligence of the Kocharyan family members and it just looks ridiculous," the deputy emphasized. He added that the opposition in the NA has nowhere to go. "If we monitor the insults from them towards the government that we swallowed, it will become clear to everyone how restrained we really are. However, our patience is not unlimited, it gradually accumulates and at one point makes itself known," the parliamentarian said, adding that when representatives of the opposition talk about corruption in power, being monuments to corruption themselves, it testifies to their level
