ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has found out that a candidate from a bloc of parties participating in the snap elections for the Council of Elders in the Gyumri community on March 30, 2025, promised an electoral bribe to a resident of Gyumri in exchange for participation in the elections, and for recruiting voters to support the bloc of parties he represents.
During the preliminary investigation it was established that the resident in question reached out to several individuals within his circle who were eligible to vote, urging them to participate in the elections and vote for the said bloc, and passed on the information received on this matter to the candidate who was offering the electoral bribe.
During the preliminary investigation, the two above-mentioned individuals were charged with committing predicate crimes under Articles 218 and 219 of Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, specifically, receiving and giving an election bribe. Administrative supervision was applied to them as a preventive measure.
