Ararat Mirzoyan beating case: accused sentenced to imprisonment 

ArmInfo.  One of the defendants in the beating of the former Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and current Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, Ara Badoyan, received 3.5 years in prison.  This was reported by "Armlur".

The source indicates that, taking into account the conclusion made  during the preliminary investigation, Ara Badoyan has one year, 11  months and 23 days left to spend in captivity.

The source also indicates that immediately after the court decision  was announced, Badoyan felt ill and had to call an ambulance.

Earlier, during the presentation of the report on the activities of  the Investigative Committee in 2024, the head of the department Artur  Poghosyan reported that new arrests would be made in this case in the  near future.

Earlier, ArmInfo reported that two people were detained in connection  with the beating of Mirzoyan - Ara Badoyan and Torgom Asatryan. Both  deny their guilt.

On November 10, 2020, after the trilateral agreement between Russia,  Azerbaijan and Armenia on the cessation of hostilities in  Nagorno-Karabakh came into force, protesters broke into the Armenian  government building and demanded the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan.  The protesters also attacked and beat up the then speaker of the  Armenian parliament, Ararat Mirzoyan.
