ArmInfo. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case against officials of the Vardenis community of the Gegharkunik region of Armenia has been completed. This was reported by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.

The preliminary investigation established that the head and deputy head of the department of the Vardenis community municipality, using their official powers, received a bribe from the director of the company carrying out technical control and an employee of the same company. Thus, on November 4, 2024, the said officials received a bribe from the director and technical manager of the company in order to give a positive opinion on the construction work carried out for the needs of the city within the framework of subsidy programs, and to submit documents to the municipality regarding the amount to be paid.
Two municipal officials were charged with bribery under Article 435, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. They were placed under arrest as a preventive measure. The director and technical manager of the company were charged with giving a bribe to the above-mentioned officials under Article 436, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
