ArmInfo. Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia have uncovered a large batch of drugs.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on April 25, operational information was received that two men, aged 24 and 59, were preparing to purchase drugs smuggled into the country for the purpose of selling them. As a result of operational measures taken, both citizens were detained on the 4th kilometer of the Kapan-Kajaran highway and taken to the Kajaran district police department. During the search, packages with a substance similar to marijuana were found on the men - 1,373 grams in total.
A criminal case has been opened in the Syunik Regional Investigation Department, within the framework of which, by a court decision, a search was conducted in the house and utility rooms of the 59-year-old man. In addition to the air pistol and various bullets, 885 grams of opium were found near the house. According to the owner of the house, all of this belongs to him. Both persons have been arrested, and all circumstances of the case are being clarified.
