ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia did not find it necessary to pursue criminal prosecution against the police officers who used violence against the young activist Tigran Ulubabyan. The head of the department, Artur Poghosyan, made this announcement in the parliament on May 12.
According to him, the Investigative Committee of Armenia has a special unit that investigates such cases. Immediately after receiving the message, the department carried out all the necessary urgent actions, identified all the police officers involved, and conducted confrontations. There are contradictions in the testimonies of both parties, each presenting its own position. A forensic medical examination was also conducted, which didn't find any evidence of torture. The department has ordered a new examination, and a response is now awaited. However, as Artur Pogosyan noted, there is a victim in the case, and the forensic medical examination data indicate no evidence of torture.
