ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia demands that the property of the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan's family, obtained illegally, be confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia.
As the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan stated at the plenary session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on May 12, the supervisory body demands 22 real estate properties and more than $3 million in financial resources from the Kocharyan family. In addition, deposits in commercial banks in the amount of $1.4 million are subject to confiscation. The Prosecutor General noted that the claim of the supervisory body is in the court at the preliminary consideration stage.
The defendants in this matter include Robert Kocharyan, his wife Bella Kocharyan, the son of the second president Sedrak Kocharyan, Kocharyan's second son Levon Kocharyan and his wife Siranush Kocharyan, Kocharyan's daughter Gayane Kocharyan and her husband Vigen Chatinyan. In addition to the above- mentioned property and financial resources, the Prosecutor General's Office also demands the confiscation of shares of companies worth 985 million drams, participation in the charter companies of 15 legal entities, including Toyota Yerevan and a number of other firms, from the Kocharyan family. The Prosecutor's Office also insists on the return of 8 billion drams, 260 million Russian rubles and a loan worth 490 million euros, 2 vehicles, more than 3.8 billion drams for acquired property and more than 20 billion drams.
