ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia must give a legal assessment to the speech on the Public Television of Armenia of the former official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, the head of the Command and Staff Institute named after Marshal Baghramyan of the Military Academy of the RA Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan. This was stated on May 12 from the rostrum of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia by the Secretary of the opposition faction "Armenia" of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Artsvik Minasyan.
On May 9, speaking on PTA, Artsrun Hovhannisyan stated that Germany's victory in the Great Patriotic War would have been beneficial to Armenia. According to him, the Battle of Stalingrad prevented Germany from capturing Turkey and creating a united Armenia. "One of the most difficult myths for us is that the Battle of Stalingrad allegedly saved Armenia from the Turkish invasion," Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.
In this regard, the opposition MP called on the RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan to conduct an investigation into these statements, especially in the context of the fight against the crimes against humanity committed by Nazi Germany.
"In essence, we are talking about justifying the regime of Adolf Hitler and the crimes he committed. Moreover, in his statements, the representative of the RA Ministry of Defense allowed the falsification of history, stating that Hitler's Germany allegedly aimed to recreate historical Armenia, just as they are trying to falsify the modern history of our country today," the oppositionist said.
