ArmInfo. The press service of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan denied the information circulated in the media about "secret agreements" between the Armenian authorities and European pharmaceutical companies.
Thus, Pashinyan's press secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan, in a publication on her Facebook page, called the content of the material on the website of "The London Times", where Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and high-ranking officials of Armenia are credited with "secret agreements" with European pharmaceutical companies, an obvious lie.
"This publication was sent to law enforcement agencies for a legal assessment on the instructions of the Prime Minister. There are no persons involved in the pharmaceutical business either in the Prime Minister's entourage or among the high-ranking officials mentioned in the publication. There is no agreement or contract mentioned in the publication and there could not have been.
The appearance of this false publication could have had two customers: external - with the aim of inciting internal tensions in Armenia and/or internal - with the aim of countering the government's efforts to establish legality and clear traceability in the market and prevent illegal drug trafficking," she noted.
At the same time, she did not rule out the presence of both scenarios at the same time. "The introduction of a mandatory system for prescribing drugs only on the basis of electronic prescriptions is an absolute necessity. The existence of such a system will make any possibility of illegal import of drugs and unjustified prescriptions to patients, if not impossible, then extremely difficult," Baghdasaryan said.
