Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia, Artak Jumayan, and First Vice Mayor of Marseille, Michele Rubirola, reached an agreement to establish cooperation between medical institutions in both countries in the fields of maternal and reproductive health, public health, and emergency preparedness.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Armenia, during the meeting Jumayan and Rubirola discussed issues related to maternal and reproductive health in Armenia and France, and presented the reforms being implemented in these areas.
As noted by the Deputy Minister of Health, in recent years, the volume of mandatory prenatal examinations has increased in Armenia. Additional examinations have also been established for pregnant women at risk. He noted that the infertility program in Armenia has expanded, providing more women with access to expensive assisted reproductive technologies. During the meeting, Jumayan discussed the country's capabilities in case of emergencies and emphasized the importance of enhancing the capacity of rapid response medical teams, identifying any existing gaps and obstacles, and finding practical solutions to improve the efficiency of the healthcare system.
